The Two Powerful Kings

Many years ago lived a very powerful king who claimed to be the son of god. He was feared by his enemies and loved by his followers. He conquered all that stood in his way and let nothing stifle his ambition. Bloodshed, cruel treatment of enemies, concubines and homosexual tendencies were his M.O. He had set up his kingdom over the entire known Earth. He died at the age of 33 with all these accomplishments and had nothing to show for it. Many years ago lived a very powerful King who was the Son of God. He was both feared and loved.... And hated. He conquered all that stood in His way. Even if it meant conquering through His own death. He let nothing stifle His mission. Love, kindness, patience, joy, peace, understanding, sacrifice.... and bloodshed were his M.O. He came to establish His Kingdom. He left to prepare a place for us. He died at the age of 33....and if all he had to show for it was you.... He wouldn't have changed a thing. One man conquers the world with a sword, the other with three nails. One man rules through violence and commands loyalty, while the other leads through grace and commands us to love each other. Alexander the Great and Jesus Christ both lived to the age of 33. Both conquered the world... But only one conquered death. What kingdom are you fighting for? What camp are you in? Before you hunt any eggs this weekend or eat an entire bag of jelly beans in one setting... Stop. Remember what it is that makes this a special weekend. Christ loves you. He suffered for you. He died for you. Before you get caught up in the festivities of the weekend, remember to thank Him. It's the least we can do.
